I’ve fallen in love
with the haunting, soulful lyrics and pulsing, pounding “heartbeat” rhythm of Massive Attack’s song “Teardrop.”
I can see why they picked it as the theme song for “House.” :-) Original lyrics at: http://www.lyricsonnet.com/mylyrics.php?id=64999&artist=MASSIVE%20ATTACK This tune can be found on their Mezzanine album and is definitely worth a listen. :-)

“Teardrops”
Love, love isn’t
a word
House has often said or
heard
Since “muscle death”
Killed something inside
him
But his eyes get much
brighter
When he’s fearlessly
fighting Death
Nothing stops desire
Not even praying for death
He tells himself nothing
matters
But passion blossoms
And his heart still beats
within his chest
When he solves a problem
He cheats his enemy, Death
Tears don’t stop
desire
He still has something
left
Those aren’t teardrops
in his eyes…
By the time you draw nearer
He’ll have hidden
them in a jest
Don’t expect a confession
He hasn’t forgiven
God, yet
But he’s a faithful
servant
Battling against Death
And he can’t stop
human desires
That steal away his breath
He’s just stumbling
a little
Finding his way back to
love again
